Why taking a RB with your first two picks is a good idea.

It's June and Fantasy Football season has arrived. If you're anything like me and my friends you have probably been looking forward to your league's annual Fantasy Football Draft. My friends and I play on ESPN which allows you to start drafting June 18th which was unfortunate for us because we were ready back in April :/ . But whether you're with ESPN, NFL.com, Yahoo, or any other platform your Fantasy draft   is an exciting event. One that may have you stressing, asking for help, and getting no help/answers in return. This year in particular If you are sitting in a 12 team league and you do not take a RB in the first round you are shooting yourself in the foot. Especially if you hold a top 5 pick. Names like Aaron Rodgers, Calvin Johnson or even Drew Brees may look like sexy names but the lack of depth at RB makes taking one a must. If you're sitting at 4,5,6 Adrian Peterson, Arian Foster , and Marshawn Lynch are most likely off the board. Leaving you with Doug Martin, Ray Rice, Jamal Charles, and possibly CJ Spiller as possible options. If you miss out on one of these elite options you're probably looking at maybe MJD, Darren McFadden, Chris Johnson, as your #1 RB in the second round. That puts you in a bad position. Now if you can grab a Doug Martin in the first and maybe Darren McFadden in the second you can pull off a sweet RB duo that will be a week to week threat to other teams in your league. Now that you have that sort of duo you look at the WR/QB position. Collin Kaepernick is a sweet pick up in the 3/4th round and I've done alot of mock drafts where Andre Johnson or Randall Cobb are there in round 3. So ultimately going RB back to back in the first two rounds presents more value because QB and WR are much deeper positions. With your third pick you can get Andre Johnson or another WR and in the fourth there's still good value at QB if not Kaepernick you'll find Russell Wilson, RG3. If you dont like those options build some depth and take a QB later. If you're able to wait on QB with such a deep selection of players you can go TE earlier than others and come away with a Jason Witten.

Collin Kaepernick
Ray Rice
Darren McFadden
Andre Johnson
Steve Smith
Jason Witten

Is better than

Tom Brady
Chris Ivory
Lamar Miller
Calvin Johnson
Danario Alexander
(Your choice excluding top name TE's)
